Job Description

Depot Manager - Power Tools Derby, Derbyshire £18,000 - £22,000 DOE Plus Profit Share Scheme, Pension, Social Club, Scope for Career Development As a leading, family owned business, our client supplies quality power tools and fixings to the joinery and shopfitting industries. An opportunity has now arisen for a Depot Manager to join their team in Derby. This role would suit someone with a track record in the power tools industry looking for a position that offers more responsibility and reward. As the Depot Manager you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Area Manager, with particular emphasis on all aspects of depot trade. Day to day, your role will involve processing customers\' orders over the trade counter, communicating regularly with the customer base, and processing customer repairs. Your focus will be on monitoring plant availability, product and service complaints, and sales and hire statistics. And your objectives will include ensuring hire equipment is supplied correctly, testing and ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and encouraging the speedy turnaround of repairs and service. You will also be responsible for: * ensuring the safe transportation of items to the customer, making sure deliveries are on time, complete and accurate * completing relevant hire/off hire paperwork - advising customers when hire contracts have expired * providing technical assistance and problem solving to customers * ensuring that personal training and coaching is provided * covering the Area Manager during periods of absence To be considered for this position, you must have experience of working with customers within the power tools industry. In addition to good communication skills, as the Depot Manager you should also be self motivated, reliable and professional with a smart appearance. Attention to detail and good IT awareness are also needed. Any of the following would be beneficial to your application: electro-mechanical knowledge; application selling skills; management experience. Candidates must have a driving licence and live within a commuting distance of Derby, or be willing to relocate.
