Job Description
Main Duties:-
Cleaning Routines
¢ To follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as designed to suit the needs of the Scheme / Village.
¢ To follow requirements to undertake some tasks less frequently, e.g., spring cleaning of vacated rooms, washing of paintwork.
¢ To be alert to taking initiative where necessary to ensure that the Scheme / Village is maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness and comfort at all times
¢ To include care of internal plants and checking the tidiness of reception areas and corridors and keeping them free of obstructions e.g., discarded boxes
Cleaning Tasks
¢ To use appropriate methods to clean carpets, hard surfaces, furniture, bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and windows according to the requirements of the cleaning routine schedule
¢ To use an appropriate method to clean soft furnishings, including washable curtains.
¢ To dispose of all rubbish in the designated external bins.
Health & Safety
¢ To ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety policies and COSHH regulations.
¢ To be alert for hazards for self, other staff and residents and to report such findings immediately.
Resident Welfare and Support
- ¢ To build and maintain appropriate relationships with residents and their relatives, while adhering strictly to the requirements for confidentiality.
Overall Aim of the Job:-
¢ To contribute to the support offered to Residents by maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Scheme / Village.
¢ To show a caring attitude toward Residents as is central to the way of working at ExtraCare.
¢ To build good relationships with all members of the care team in the Scheme / Village.
¢ Provide a personalised housing related support service to older people with an assessed need which will help them to remain as independent as possible. The service must be outcome based with 5 key objectives to enable people to

make a positive contribution
Training
- ¢ To take part in training on all parts of the job description, all statutory and mandatory, and any other training which may be requested from time to time.
Laundry
- ¢ To assist with or undertake, according to the individual residents needs, personal laundry including bedding.
