Job responsibilities:
The stores at the plant serves the two main production lines on site, one building mobile crushers, the other building mobile screeners. The engineering parts can vary from diesel engines and large fabricated items, to nuts bolts and hoses. There are approximately 20,000 components that make up a single machine.
The stores team build pick and despatch both individual parts and kits for the production line, which need to be delivered to the line on time and with complete accuracy in order to meet the busy production schedules.
There is an MRP system in place which is currently going through a complete review in order to improve stock accuracy. A key part of the stores manager role will be managing your team to help improve this important area.
You will manage a team of 15 supervisors and stores operatives. How well you run your department will have an immediate and direct influence on company performance on a day to day basis.

Person Profile:
You should have experience of managing a stores environment with a computerised system, together with proven ability to manage people in situations where the need for accuracy with tight deadlines is part of everyday working.
With the stores being in a transitional period, you should also be comfortable with being a key part of an improving stock accuracy situation, with experience of system implementation being a distinct advantage. You should also be comfortable with compiling computerised stock reports using both spreadsheets and a stock control system.
Above all else the successful candidate will have a management style that gets results by calm, level-headed people management, building a team approach and joint responsibility for the performance of the department.
