Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician:

Salary £32,000 to £35,000

3 on 3 off 12 hour shifts - days and nights.

As the Multi Skilled Technician you will need to be Apprentice Trained, Time Served or possess a minimum of NVQ3 in the relevant discipline (Mechanical or Electrical ) You must have a ONC or City & Guilds level 2 again in the relevant discipline.

We are ideally looking for Technicians that are Multi-skilled to include Mechanical, Electrical and experience and understanding of PLC's, we could consider either a mechanical or electrical bias at the current time but it is essential that candidates have the PLC experience, with the ability to navigate a PLC for fault finding purposes.

Main Responsibilities:

1. To react to breakdowns within the plant, in a manner, which reflects the day-to-day needs of the factory, and to be aware of those needs thereby maximising production output and ensuring the smooth flow of the operation.

2. To communicate effectively with team leaders and technical personnel in the department on all shifts, by participation within various communication systems such as written logs, work lists, diagnostic systems, meetings and the maintaining and management of technical documentation relating to our site.

3. To ensure that projects identified within the factory / department are positively progressed from the conception to completion.

4. To participate technically in site wide initiatives such as Globe AMM, CDM, CI teams and capital projects as requested.

5. To work with the factory planned maintenance systems both developing and completing planned maintenance routines and to constantly monitor the effectiveness of the system.

6. To identify spare part requirements and liaise with store personnel and internal technical contacts to assist in ensuring the maintenance of optimum stock levels.

7. To partake in ongoing training programmes, both internal and external, as required.

8. To ensure an involvement in the risk assessment of all engineering routine tasks and to use a dynamic risk assessment approach to all non-routine tasks.

Purpose of the role for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician:

To effectively maintain & develop the equipment & systems within the factory in a manner that upholds the quality of the operation with regards to production output, product quality, cost effectiveness and the preservation of company equipment in the best possible condition.
